Michigan State vs. Indiana: Second Half Highlights

Michigan State etches out a victory over Indiana 40-31. The third quarter was really hard to watch. Indiana did whatever they wanted against the Spartan’s defense. All the while, MSU’s offense had absolutely no rhythm nor success. In the fourth quarter, things began to change for MSU. Here are some highlights from the second half:

Spartan’s Defense: Better Late Than Never

The first MSU sack did not come until the fourth quarter. Kenny Willekes and Joe Bachie all stepped up in the fourth. Raequan Williams recorded the first Spartan sack in the fourth quarter. Earlier in the third, Willekes had a beastly tackle to prevent a Hoosiers first down:

In the fourth quarter, MSU’s offense finally woke up. Matt Seybert aka “Mr. Reliable” put up a timely receiving touchdown. This came after a critical stop by the Spartans defense. Watch this touchdown below:

Matt Coghlin Hits Game-Winning Field Goal

Matt Coghlin exercised some demons today. Last year, Coghlin was dynamite. This year, he has struggled plenty. Now, he can replenish any lost confidence. Coghlin delivered a perfect field goal when it was needed most. He put the Spartans over the Hoosiers for the win late in the game. Watch him nail the field goal below:

This win was not necessarily pretty, but, boy was it fun to watch. This game was entertaining even in the darkest moments.

Michigan State travels to Ohio Stadium next Saturday on Oct. 5. The game is on ABC at 7:30 P.M.
