Michigan State to play at Seton Hall in first Gavitt Games appearance

Michigan State will be the last Big Ten team to debut in the Gavitt Games and they will do it on the road against Seton Hall.

CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein reported the matchups on Twitter.

The Gavitt Games are in their fifth year and pit eight Big East teams against eight Big Ten teams. The games are named after Dave Gavitt, the first ever commissioner of the Big East. MSU will be required to participate in the games for the next four seasons after missing the first four.

Michigan State will look to keep its record against Seton Hall perfect. The Spartans are 3-0 against the Pirates with the most recent matchup in 2001, a 68-64 MSU win at the Breslin Center.
