Michigan State suffers disheartening loss to Penn State 28-7

Another week, another loss for the Michigan State football program. This week, the Spartans lose to Penn State 28-7. Thus, Penn State has won the Land Grant Trophy. This game was incredibly disappointing. Even worse than the previous two losses to Wisconsin and Ohio State. Now, it feels like the season is pointless outside of beating Michigan. Where can we go from here?

Michigan State’s defense is now streaky. At times, they get to the quarterback with ease and stop plays instantly. In other moments, they are unable to make tackles nor stop deep passes. As a result, Penn State QB Sean Clifford put up four touchdown passes. He cut up the Spartan defense without any real resistance.

Michigan State’s offense was absolutely terrible. I’ve spent a lot of time defending MSU QB Brian Lewerke and I just cannot do it anymore. This loss is not all his fault, but, he made inaccurate throw after inaccurate throw in throughout this game. More often than not, Lewerke threw passes closer to Penn State defenders than his own Spartan receivers. At least Michigan State put up a touchdown, I guess.
