After Tom Izzo’s Michigan State Spartans made it to the Final Four back in April, he announced that the team would be making a trip to Spain during the summer. However, this morning, an MSU spokesperson announced that those plans have been delayed to 2020, citing a need to better prepare for this upcoming season, where the Spartans are currently the #1 ranked team in nearly every preseason ranking.
Michigan State’s last trip overseas was to Italy in 2015, but this makes sense to delay given what is at stake for this upcoming season.

Michigan State will open the basketball season on November 5th at the Champions Classic at Madison Square Garden in New York. They will face off against the Kentucky Wildcats in the world’s most famous venue.
