Michigan State, as part of their Spartans All-Access program, released a touching behind-the-scenes look at their trip to the Final Four today.
Quite frankly, the 2018-19 Spartans were not supposed to be as good as they were. After losing two studs (Miles Bridges and Jaren Jackson Jr.) last summer to the NBA Draft, many fans were preparing themselves for a rebuilding year. Instead, we as fans were able to watch in delight as this team continued to delight and surprise us through the year.
More than anything, this was one of the most endearing, clearly tight-knit teams we’ve seen go through East Lansing. This was never more clear than when Kyle Ahrens went down with a gruesome leg injury during the championship game of the Big Ten Tournament.
This was truly a special year for Michigan State’s players, coaches, and fans, and that’s why this most recent all-access look at the team heading into the Final Four is so touching, because you can see exactly how close this group was, and is:
