Tom Izzo is doing his best to find a top-tier forward of the future during this recruiting period. We first wrote about Izzo’s interest in 4-star power forward Jaemyn Brakefield back in May and he just revealed today that he has received an offer from Izzo and the Spartans.
This offer comes hot of the heels of the news that Michigan State is in Cam’Ron Fletcher’s top-5 and they are also still in play for Scooby Johnson. Of course, there is still a shot Izzo can recruit 5-star power forward Isaiah Jackson, with Jackson’s friend Jalen Terry and Coach Izzo both recruiting him heavily.
The 6-foot-8 Jaemyn Brakefield is the #1 ranked player in West Virginia and the #3 ranked power forward in the country, and #33 ranked player overall. He is currently projected by 247sports‘ Crystal Ball predictions to go to Kentucky, however, the last time we checked in on Brakefield he was projected to go to Ole Miss so there is still a chance here.
