Michigan State Men’s Basketball falls on the road to Ohio State

I think it is safe to say that Tom Izzo and Michigan State Basketball are happy to see January end. In the final day of what I would call the worst month of Tom Izzo’s tenure with the Spartans, MSU fell on the road to a surging Ohio State team, 79-62. Michigan State is now 2-6 in Big Ten play as their NCAA Tournament dreams start to slip away.

This wasn’t as much of an embarrassment as the team’s last loss against Rutgers, but it continues to be frustrating watching this team struggle after being ranked as high as No. 4 in the country this season.

The Spartans had three players in double digits, Joey Hauser with 11, Josh Langford with 14, and Aaron Henry with 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. Aside from that , there wasn’t much positive to say except for some solid minutes for Julius Marble that provided a brief spark near the end of the game.

The Spartans are scheduled to play Iowa on Tuesday.
