Michigan State is just an hour and a half-ish away from tip-off at New York City’s Madison Square Garden against Kentucky. A few hours ago, Michigan State Head Coach Tom Izzo talked about the expectations facing his team with NCAA.com’s Andy Katz heading into this big opening game against the Wildcats.
Tom Izzo is, of course, coaching his first preseason number one squad so this is probably the most hyped Izzo team of all time, and he’s ready to embrace the pressure:
“Anytime you’re picked high, you should embrace it. That’s why you come to places like this,” Izzo said.
