Michigan State GIF Tournament round two: The White Region

I didn’t think it’d turn out this way, but the second round in the white region is the part of this entire tournament I’m most looking forward to. Don’t get me wrong, the other regions are great and have strong competitors, but the white region is bananas.

We’ve got four all-timer GIFs left and they’ve all earned their spots here, as the white region was, in my opinion, the best region top-to-bottom in the entire tournament.

Let’s get to the GIFs.

#1 “You Choked” vs. #5 Pastor Gabriel T. Brown

We’ve got some strong #1 seeds in this tournament and Justin Layne’s “You choked” is right up there with the best of ’em.

This Gif absolutely kills me every time. It’s almost to the point where I feel bad for Eddie McDoom, but then I remember what team he plays for. This is an astoundingly savage piece of smack talk and there’s nothing McDoom can do to get back at Layne.

It takes on one of the better GIFs from last season.

I don’t know if Gabe Brown has enough juice to win this tournament, but I have a feeling he will be a mainstay in future versions of this tournament as long as he is in the green and white. By all accounts the character of the team, Bubba shows it all in this GIF celebrating MSU clowning their way through the NCAA Tournament.

#2 Geiger Windmill vs. #3 “Yes!”

Two of the most beloved celebrations in MSU football history square off here. Up first is the signature moment of Michael Geiger’s career.

This celebration was just perfect. Windmilling down the field after knocking off #3 Ohio State on the road is just *Italian chef’s kiss*. It feels like if he hadn’t run into teammates Geiger would have just kept windmilling until he floated up in the air and out of the Horseshoe.

It takes on another impactful celebration.

Travis Jackson replicating Daniel Bryan’s “Yes!” celebration during a beatdown of UofM was glorious. I’m convinced the ripple effect helped reestablish Bryan’s status as a WWE superstar. IT became the unofficial celebration of MSU athletics for that entire year. And it’s just a really funny way for a lineman to celebrate a TD.
