Michigan State drops one spot to no. 19 in AP poll

AP poll voters agree with Michigan State football fans, the Spartans’ opening night win over Tulsa was underwhelming.

Michigan State has fallen one spot to no. 19 in the week two AP poll. MSU is the fifth-highest ranked Big Ten team, behind Ohio State (5th), Michigan (7th), Penn State (15th) and Wisconsin (17th). Iowa (20th) and Nebraska (25th) are also ranked, giving the conference seven teams in the top 25.

Michigan State is also ranked no. 20 in the Amway Coaches Poll.

It’s hard to blame the voters for dipping MSU a bit. The Spartans beat Tulsa 28-7, but looked sloppy and undisciplined, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

Michigan State hosts Western Michigan Saturday.
