Michigan State converts fake punt for first down against Wisconsin

It’s been a tough day for Michigan State’s offense, and that looked like it would continue for the Spartans as Wisconsin appeared to force them to punt early in the second half after a failed drive when head coach Mark Dantonio decided to reach into his bag of tricks for a fake punt… which Michigan State converted.

The Spartans used the old direct snap run to wide receiver Tre Mosley and he was able to scamper for a gain of 17 yards. You can watch it here:

Not sure how Wisconsin wasn’t prepared for that given the situation but it didn’t end up mattering much anyway as the Spartans still punted just a few plays later.
