EAST LANSING, Mich. _ LJ Scott didn't miss much time. Michigan State's offense skipped more than a few beats.
And the Spartans' feel-good start to the season nearly turned ugly.
With MSU's offense sputtering for much of the day, sophomore quarterback Brian Lewerke found Felton Davis for a 10-yard touchdown with just under 6 minutes to play to give MSU its first lead of the game. Running back Scott added an 18-yard score with 1:49 to play as the No. 19 Spartans rallied to beat Indiana 17-9 on Saturday at Spartan Stadium.
MSU (6-1, 4-0) survived to become bowl eligible after missing the postseason last year. Indiana (3-4, 0-4) beat MSU 24-21 in overtime last year in Bloomington.
