It was against Purdue where Michigan State’s season completely took a downward spiral, and on Tuesday night it will be where the Spartans look to somehow get it back on track.
Michigan State heads to West Lafayette, Ind. on Tuesday night, looking to pick up a must-needed-win to potentially make a late-season push for the NCAA Tournament. Michigan State blew a 17-point second-half lead against Purdue on Jan. 8, which began a 2-5 stretch for the Spartans. Now, Michigan State is squarely looking at missing the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1997 (excluding last year’s tournament that was canceled because of COVID-19) unless they can get hot to end the season.
Can that streak start on Tuesday at Purdue?
