Michigan State baseball alum Anthony Misiewicz gets first MLB win

Anthony Misiewicz was a standout pitcher during his time in East Lansing. After 3 seasons with the Spartans, Misiewicz was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 2015 MLB June Amateur Draft.

The lefty pitcher spent his 4 years in the minor leagues as a starting pitcher, making his way through the ranks. Misiewicz got his crack at the majors when he was called up during the 2020 season as a reliever.

After appearing in 21 games during the 2020 season, Misiewicz took that momentum into the 2021 season, making the big league roster out of spring training.

Yesterday on opening day for the Mariners, Misiewicz threw a perfect inning to get the win, the first of his major league career.

Misiewicz is the only active MSU alum in the MLB.
