Michigan sophomore Jabrill Peppers has denied a report that he has picked agents Jimmy Sexton and Patrick Collins and will declare for the NFL draft. The initial report came from Darren Heitner of forbes.com.
"Funny how I haven't made any decisions on my future," Peppers tweeted. "This is a complete false report.
"This is going to be one of the hardest decisions in my life. If you haven't heard anything from the UofM or myself, it's FALSE. Thank You."
Peppers has not yet announced whether he will go pro. The Forbes report only says that Peppers has "selected" the agents, not that he has signed with them. Signing with an agent would forfeit his remaining two years of eligibility at U-M.
Players have until Jan. 16 to declare for the draft.
Collins played football at U-M and later worked for the program.
The Forbes report also stated that U-M tight end Jake Butt will sign with Sexton and Collins and that receiver Jehu Chesson is considering it as well but has not made a final decision. Butt and Chesson are seniors so there is no issue about their draft status.
