Michigan's Amazon show will give fans behind-the-scenes look

Michigan offensive lineman Ben Bredeson said he plans to tell his parents to watch.

Amazon announced plans Tuesday for a new unscripted series that will chronicle Michigan's 2017 football season. The untitled project will be produced by BTN Originals, The Montag Group and Jim Jorden Productions.

"I think it's great," Bredeson said. "I mean, it's cool to have Amazon walking around. It's going to help me answer a lot of questions from Mom and Dad, who always want to know what's going on every day. So, just tell them to watch."

Will it be a recruiting tool?

"I think any kind of media exposure can be a recruiting tool these days," Bredeson said. "With all the social media outlets and stuff, if your name is out there someone's going to find it."

Freshman wide receiver Tarik Black was excited about the Amazon show.

"I think it's a pretty cool thing that we're doing," Black said, adding that he used to watch similar shows when he was a kid. "Now that I'm going to be a part of one, I'm embracing it. It's pretty fun."

The series is set to be released in January. No air date has been announced at this time, but the series appears to be similar in concept to HBO's popular NFL show "Hard Knocks."

"The series will give Prime members unprecedented access to the winningest program in college football, chronicling Michigan's 2017 season," according to a released statement. "The cameras will follow Coach (Jim) Harbaugh, his assistant coaches, the student athletes and their support system on and off the field, giving viewers an inside look at the team, game, practice, life in Ann Arbor, and everything in between."

Amazon were in Rome to film the team's trip to Italy and have been with the team since the beginning of fall camp.

"We are proud to collaborate with Amazon Prime Video in documenting our University of Michigan student-athletes' daily experiences and the lifelong lessons learned both on the football field and in the classroom," Harbaugh said in a released statement. "We welcome judgment! We embrace this opportunity to showcase our 2017 University of Michigan football team to a vast audience around the world."
