Michigan RB Hassan Haskins exploded vs. Ohio State and literally carried Wolverines to a win

After Jim Harbaugh opened his tenure at Michigan going 0-5 versus Ohio State, the Wolverines head coach finally snapped his losing streak against the Buckeyes on Saturday in Ann Arbor.

No. 5 Michigan topped No. 2 Ohio State, 42-27, but it wouldn’t have been possible without Hassan Haskins’ stunning, standout performance.

The Wolverines’ senior running back finished the game with 28 carries for 169 yards and averaged six yards a carry. But his biggest contribution to the W was a whopping five touchdowns — accounting for all but one of Michigan’s trips to the end zone against the Buckeyes.

Haskins was an incredible force and tore Ohio State’s slow and struggling defense apart, as he posted his season-high total for rushing yards in a single game. Same goes for his touchdowns, and he had the same of those Saturday as he had in Michigan’s five previous games, combined.

While Michigan’s run game finished with 297 yards on the ground, Haskins also put up wild moves like this:

And per ESPN Stats & Info, Haskins is the first player in the Michigan-Ohio State series and the first player overall against the Buckeyes to rush for five touchdowns in a single game.

In Harbaugh’s post-game interview with FOX Sports, he unsurprisingly gave a lot of credit to Haskins for leading this Michigan team in the game and throughout its 11-1 season so far.

So as Haskins literally carried his team to its first win against the Buckeyes since 2011, here’s a look at each of his touchdowns.
