Michigan is most popular bet to win CFP title

Is Michigan the favorite to win the college football national championship this season?

Not according to analysts, but the bettors have spoken. More bets have been placed on the Wolverines than any other team, according to a survey of Las Vegas sportsbooks by espn.com.

U-M has garnered 10 percent of all wagers at William Hill's Nevada book, and the Wolverines' title odds have been bet down from 15-to-1 to 7-to-1 at the Westgate SuperBook, ESPN says.

At Westgate, U-M leads the number of bets, followed by LSU, Clemson, Ohio State and Florida State.

The Buckeyes actually narrowly lead U-M in wagers at the South Point casino. Meanwhile, South Point's line for the head-to-head matchup between OSU and U-M has been bet down from Ohio State minus-6.5 to Ohio State minus-5. Sportsbook director Chris Andrews told ESPN that 88 percent of the money bet on the game so far has been on the visiting Wolverines.
