Michigan football gets commit from Detroit Cass Tech 2021 OL Raheem Anderson

Michigan football landed a commitment for the Class of 2021 from a local prospect on Easter Sunday.

Detroit Cass Tech center Raheem Anderson announced his decision in a video posted to Twitter, picking the Wolverines over Michigan State, Nebraska, Missouri and Kentucky, among others.

Anderson, a 6-foot-3, 298-pound offensive lineman, is a four-star prospect. He is the No. 211 overall recruit, the No. 3 center and the state of Michigan's seventh-best prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Anderson held offers from most of the regional schools, including a couple of significant out-of-state tenders from Georgia and LSU.

He becomes the latest prospect from Cass Tech to pick the Wolverines, perhaps reigniting a pipeline that had run dry in the past few cycles. They have not signed a player from Cass Tech since netting Donovan Peoples-Jones and Jaylen Kelly-Powell in 2017.

They also offered twin brothers Kalen King and Kobe King (Anderson's teammates), but they committed to Penn State on Friday.

Anderson is the third four-star offensive lineman in Michigan's class, joining Sterling Heights Stevenson's Giovanni El-Hadi and IMG Academy's Greg Crippen.

It has eight commitments in the 2021 class, which ranks No. 9 nationally and No. 3 in the Big Ten, according to 247Sports.
