Michigan football adds another four-star linebacker in Jaydon Hood for 2021

Michigan football just added another four-star linebacker to its 2021 recruiting class

One day after Junior Colson's commitment, Fort Lauderdale (Florida) St. Thomas Aquinas linebacker Jaydon Hood picked the Wolverines, announcing his decision via Twitter.

Hood, listed at 6-foot-1 and 212 pounds, is a four-star recruit, the No. 298 overall prospect and the No. 11 inside linebacker, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Hood's commitment comes shortly after he named his top 10 schools: Michigan, Kentucky, Virginia Tech, Minnesota, Louisville, South Florida, West Virginia, Vanderbilt, South Carolina and Miami. He also held offers from Alabama, Florida State and Penn State.

Hood is the second prospect from St. Thomas Aquinas _ a national powerhouse that former Michigan quarterbacks Jake Rudock and John O'Korn both attended _ to commit to Michigan's 2021 class. Three-star cornerback Ja'Den McBurrows committed to the Wolverines on April 24.

Prior to the commitments by Hood and Colson, the Wolverines had no four-star defensive commitments in the 2021 class. Hood is the seventh highest-ranked prospect in a class of 15. Michigan has added 13 commitments since the coronavirus outbreak began in mid-March and shut down all in-person recruiting.
