DETROIT _ A Dearborn Heights, Mich., man pleaded guilty Wednesday to four counts of second-degree murder for the deaths of his two children and two stepchildren in September.
A sentence agreement calls for Green, now 50, to serve 47 to 102 years in prison.
He tearfully admitted to killing Chadney Allen, 19, Kara Allen, 17, Koi Green, 5 and Kaleigh Green, 4, before 20th District Court Judge David D. Turfe.
Green admitted he shot his two stepchildren in front of their mother and killed his two daughters by carbon monoxide poisoning.
He referred to the children's mother as his ex-wife and said he shot her in the feet and cut her face with a sharp object. His ex-wife and other family members were in court Wednesday, and declined to comment leaving the courthouse.
Green is scheduled to be sentenced in Wayne County Circuit Court March 1.
Green's attorney, Charles Longstreet II, said his client is remorseful for his actions as he left the courtroom.
"He wanted to get it over with," Longstreet said of Green's decision to accept the plea.
In addition to the second-degree murder charges, Green pleaded guilty to torture, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and felony firearm in connection with the events that took place at the family's Dearborn Heights home. Three other counts were dismissed.
Green underwent an evaluation by a doctor from the Center for Forensic Psychiatry and was found competent to stand trial, attorneys said Wednesday.
The killings happened 25 years after Green murdered his then-wife Tonya Green, who was seven months pregnant. Court records show Green stabbed her 10 times with a steak knife, killing her and her unborn child.
He pleaded no contest to second-degree murder, served 16 years in prison and was paroled in 2008.
