Michigan basketball up to No. 2; Michigan State eighth in AP top 25 poll

Michigan basketball has moved up to No. 2 in the AP top 25 college basketball poll.

With previous No. 1 Kansas losing this week, the still undefeated Wolverines moved up two spots to No. 2 in this week's poll. Taking over as the new No. 1 team is Duke.

Tennessee (10-1) and Virginia (11-0) came in at third and fourth. Kansas dropped to fifth.

Michigan received nine first-place votes. Duke received 35, Tennessee 12 while Virginia and Kansas each got four.

Michigan State, winning its only game of the week over Oakland, moved up two spots to No. 8.

Finishing out the top 10 is Nevada at No. 6, Gonzaga seventh, Florida State is ninth and Virginia Tech is 10th.

Dropping out of the top 10 was Auburn and North Carolina.
