Michigan 4-star athlete Enzo Jennings chooses Penn State

Michigan’s No. 3 high school football player for the class of 2020 decided that home wasn’t where his heart was.

Oak Park’s Enzo Jennings announced Thursday morning on Twitter his intent to commit to play college football at Penn State.

Jennings, a 4-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, had Kentucky, Pittsburgh and Notre Dame as the rest of this final four schools.

According to his Twitter account, the closest a Michigan program got was U-M, cracking his top 11. He was also offered by Michigan State and Central Michigan.

The 247 Crystal Ball projections heavily leaned toward the Nittany Lions after he visited Happy Valley last week. He was recruited by Penn State co-defensive coordinator Tim Banks, who is from Detroit.

Penn State’s class is currently ranked 19th in the country and fourth in the Big Ten for the class of 2020.

But that could go up.

Jennings, listed at 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds, mostly played cornerback last season, when he, along with No.1 player in the state, offensive lineman Justin Rogers, led Oak Park to the second round of the state playoffs.

Rogers committed to Kentucky in a ceremony at Oak Park in May.
