Michelle Wie blasts golf instructor Hank Haney over racist remarks

Golf instructor and commentator Hank Haney, who rose to prominence by coaching major champions Mark O’Meara and Tiger Woods, is facing backlash from professional golfers over his comments about the United States Women’s Open, which begins Thursday in Charleston, South Carolina. In a conversation with Steve Johnson, Haney made a racist joke about his unfamiliarity with the LPGA Tour.

Michelle Wie called out Haney on Twitter, writing that Haney should be celebrating the amazing players of every nationality instead of mocking them.

Haney offered a non-apology on his show after his comments started to go viral, but claimed to not remember what he said.

Haney tweeted an apology after his show on Twitter.
