In her razzle-dazzle address to the Republican convention last night, Melania Trump spoke lines borrowed from Michelle Obama’s speech at the 2008 Democratic convention. The Trump camp floated various explanations.

In writing her beautiful speech, Melania’s team of writers took notes on her life’s inspirations, and in some instances included fragments that reflected her own thinking. Melania’s immigrant experience and love for America shone through in her speech, which made it such a success.

2. Trump to be nominated

Donald Trump was to be officially nominated for president at the Cleveland convention tonight, with House speaker Paul Ryan presiding and Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell on hand to clap.
