Michelle Obama wishes Barack a happy birthday

Now 44 is 59.

Former President Barack Obama entered the final year of his 50s Tuesday and the former first lady celebrated the event on Twitter.

"Happy birthday to my favorite guy," Michelle Obama wrote. "Here's to all the good days, blue skies, and new adventures to come."

She accompanied the birthday wish with an old photo of the pair vacationing with their daughters Malia and Sasha. Michelle, who is an author and lawyer like her husband, turned 56 in January.

Barack Obama's birth certificate was a source of great frustration for the current president, who as a civilian appeared on talk shows including "The View" to fuel the conspiracy theory that the 44th president might not have been born in the United States.

Obama made his long-form birth certificate public shortly before a 2011 White House Correspondents' Dinner, where Donald Trump was a guest. Putting the issue to rest, according to Obama, would give Trump time to pursue other delusions.

"He can finally get back to focusing on the issued that matter, like did we fake the moon landing?" joked Obama, a Hawaii native. "What really happened in Roswell? And where are Biggie and Tupac?"
