Michelle O’Neill is self-isolating after a family member tested positive for Covid-19, it emerged today.
The Deputy First Minister is “awaiting a test”, according to sources close to the Sinn Féin Vice President.
The party has not issued any statement yet, however it is expected Ms O’Neill will confirm some details of the situation later today.
News of the isolation has emerged just hours after both she and First Minister Arlene Foster held a joint press conference yesterday to announce further measures to tackle rising infection rates across Northern Ireland.
