Tory peer Michelle Mone is facing calls for an investigation into potential links to a firm given £200million of government PPE deals.
Labour deputy leader Angela Rayner wants a probe into the former bra boss’ association with PPE Medpro, which won a contract to supply the NHS with masks and gowns.
It emerged last month Mone, 50, had referred the firm as a potential supplier.
PPE Medpro was then entered into a VIP high-priority lane for firms with political connections.
On June 12, 2020, it won an £81million contract to supply 210million masks. Two weeks later, it landed a £122million contract to provide 25million gowns.
Despite Glasgow tycoon Mone denying links to the firm owned by Anthony Page, it has emerged he is the director of a company that owns a luxury yacht on which she sailed around the Adriatic last summer.
He also works for Mone’s husband, Scots tycoon Doug Barrowman and attended the couple’s wedding last year.
He is a director of Knox House Trust, part of a group founded by Barrowman, and was the company secretary of a firm that manages Mone’s personal brand.
He resigned from that position on the same day that PPE Medpro was incorporated.
Rayner said: “These fresh revelations underline how important it is that Baroness Mone is fully investigated. She completely denied any relationship with PPE Medpro.”
A Mone spokesman said she “is neither an investor, director or shareholder in any way associated with PPE Medpro”.
