Michelle McManus announces comeback show as Glasgow Pop Idol returns for 'one night only'

Pop Idol icon Michelle McManus is back with her famous stage show, for 'one night only'. The Ballieston-born singer told her avid fans on social media of the exciting venture, and urged them to snap up tickets, the Daily Record reports.

Michelle takes to the stage at East Kilbride Village Theatre with ' Michelle McManus' Big Hits ', with tickers costing £14. The former popstar made the announcement on Instagram.

She wrote "So very excited to announce that for ONE NIGHT ONLY I’ll be bringing the very best bits of my three, one woman Edinburgh Festival shows to the Village Theatre in East Kilbride on Friday, August 12. I’ll be belting out the big numbers and telling some of my favourite comedy stories from the shows so if you’re looking for a fun night out you can purchase tickets from the link in my bio.

"Thanks so much and see you there."

Fans flocked to her comments to revel in the good news, and wish Michelle good luck with one hailing her as 'supermum'.

One fan wrote: "Yes, giving us all what we have been waiting for, the best show ever. Can’t wait to sing, laugh and cheers to you beautiful talented supermum."

Another posted: "Yass, cannae wait."

And a third wrote: "All this time."

In December 2021, Michelle noted it had been 18 years to the month that her life 'changed forever'. Her winning single, All This Time, shot to number one in the charts after she was crowned the champion of Pop Idol in 2003.

However, when she only reached number 13 with her second single, record label Sony BMG dropped her. She has, however, remained in the entertainment industry and now aged 41, she continues to sing her heart out on stage.

Michelle has also led a busy life with family, giving birth to two boys, Harry John Nimmo and Nicholas Peter Nimmo, who she looks after with husband Jeff.

You can purchase tickets to Michelle's new show at East Kilbride Village Theatre here. You can also keep up to date with the singer on social media here.
