Michelle Keegan shows off bold burgundy look as she promotes huge new Netflix role

Michelle Keegan cut a stylish figure in a burgundy suit as she promoted her new Netflix thriller.

The actress, 35, plays Maya Stern in series Fool Me Once, which is based on the book by Harlan Coben, and attended a Netflix event earlier this week to discuss the show.

The former Coronation Street star looked incredible in a jacket and flared trousers with her hair down, as she posed on a balcony before heading to the event.

Sharing the photos with her 6.4m followers, Michelle wrote: "Suited & booted for tonight’s Netflix ‘See whats next’ event. Talking all things Fool Me Once."

Famous friends rushed to support Michelle, with fellow Corrie actor Helen Flanagan, writing: "Beautiful babes", while Ashley James said: "You look insane."

Michelle shared a series of photos from the evening out, including a cocktail bar, a mirror selfie and a video of herself chatting on stage about the new production.

The Brassic star confirmed her exciting new gig in February, as she shared a snap of herself reading the book by the swimming pool, sporting a straw hat and cream bikini.

She captioned the post: "I’m over the moon to be joining the cast of FOOL ME ONCE, a @netflixuk thriller based on the book by the extremely talented @harlancoben.

"Here we go."

The actress will play grieving mother Maya in the eight-part series, which also stars Joanna Lumley.

Maya's husband Joe has been brutally murdered and the story follows the mum, who installs a nanny cam in her house to keep her younger daughter safe.

However after spotting a man that looks like her husband in her house, things take a turn.

The book's author Harlan also wrote Stay Close, which was adapted by Netflix in 2021. The new series will be created by the same team.

It has not yet been announced when the series will air, but Netflix promises it’s “coming soon”.

Michelle's evening out comes after she was reportedly left angry with trolls who posted cruel comments on a picture of her and husband Mark Wright with their premature nephew.

Dustin Wright, who was born 12 weeks early, could be seen asleep in Michelle's arms as she and Mark beamed for the camera.

The couple shared a snap of the tiny tot as they praised the "little premature warrior" after a stint in hospital before being allowed home.

However harsh and cruel jibes from online social media trolls on the Instagram snap have reportedly left Michelle "furious" and "incredibly angry" at the hurtful words.

The couple were bombarded in the comments of the cute Instagram snap with questions and cruel invasive comments about starting their own family.

A source told New! Magazine: "Michelle was really down after all the comments. It made her feel incredibly angry at all those anonymous people -who know nothing about her or what's going on in her life - being so bolshy and plain inappropriate.
