Joe Gilgun, who plays Vinnie O'Neill in the show about a group of working-class friends finding unconventional ways to win at life, was also decked out in pastel in a bright yellow tracksuit.

Michelle, who lives in Essex with her husband Mark Wright, played tragic barmaid Tina McIntyre in Corrie from 2008 to 2014 and went on to play plucky medic Georgie Lane in the BBC drama Our Girl.

In October she will be returning to our screens for the third series of Brassic and she recently excited fans by sharing a photo from filming series four.

"Back in her Doc Martin’s," she wrote.

"Brassic," commented one fan with a love heart eyes emoji.

She previously told fans on her social media that she would be filming series four in August back in her native north west.

Brassic premiered on Sky One in August 2019, following the lives of Vinnie and his friends in the fictional town of Hawley.

Before the first episode had even aired it was announced that Brassic had been renewed for a second series, which premiered in May last year.

Brassic is set in fictional Hawley based on Joe's home town Chorley.

Michelle was excited to be branching into comedy in the series created by Shameless and Ordinary Lies writer Danny Brocklehurst and This Is England actor Joe, who played little tearaway Jamie Armstrong in Corrie.

"As soon as I got these scripts I laughed out loud," she said at the premiere of the first series.

"I knew straight away it was going to be special and I just wanted to be a part of it.

"And I'm not just saying it, I loved every second."

On returning to her northern roots after filming in South Africa for Our Girl she said: "I'm very proud to be northern.

"Starting out on Coronation Street it was a huge northern show because I'd been working away for so long it was great to come back to my northern roots and to do a show like this I was really excited about it."
