Michelle Keegan regrets racy photoshoots during time on Coronation Street

Former Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan says she regrets taking part in racy photoshoots during her time on the soap.

Michelle joined Corrie when she was just 20 and played the part of Tina McIntyre between 2008 and 2014.

At the time, she appeared in a number of lads' magazines, to drive press interest in the show.

But now she's 33-years-old, Michelle has spent time reflecting on her career in an interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, reports the MEN.

Speaking about appearing in lads' mags, Michelle said: "It wasn't something that I necessarily really wanted to do. I remember feeling very shy because I was really young.

"But I thought it came as part of being on TV.

"Now that I'm older, I realise that it is OK to say no to something that you don't feel 100 per cent happy with. You don't have to do it because you think you have to do it."

But Michelle says there was no pressure from Corrie.

She said: "I will say, this is no reflection on Coronation Street.

"I had a brilliant network and team and the PR team were fabulous and really looked after me and it was a different time back then.

"Everyone did it at that time."

Michelle also discussed the constant 'unfair' questioning she receives on when she will start a family with husband Mark Wright.

She said: "A few years ago it didn't bother me and I answered the question, but now I think, 'I don’t need to answer that' because nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors.

"I remember when I finished Our Girl people were like, 'is it because you're going off to have a baby?'

"I know for a fact if Mark finished a job, nobody would ask him if he was going to have a baby.

"It's not fair. It does make me feel frustrated."
