Michelle Keegan 'frustrated' over constantly being asked when she will start a family with husband Mark Wright

Michelle Keegan has hit back at those who constantly question when she will start a family with husband Mark Wright.

The former Coronation Street actress, who married TV presenter Mark in a stunning Suffolk ceremony in May 2015, says that the assumptions she should become a mum soon are "horrible" and "frustrating".

Michelle , 32, also slammed the fact she is quizzed on the topic "because it's no one else's business".

Speaking to The Sun, Michelle said: "It's horrible. It’s like, 'You're 32. Are you not planning to have a baby yet?' People don't know if we're trying.

"They don't know the background of what's happening. It’s no one else's business. In this day and age you shouldn't ask questions like that."

The Irlam star continued: "I get so frustrated. I'm asked purely because I'm a woman.

"But I'm immune to it now - it's like a reaction and as soon as I hear it I brush it off, as it's no one else's business."

Michelle, who was back in Manchester last week to launch her latest project - Sky One's comedy series Brassic - has spent much of the last few years enjoying a long distance marriage as her former TOWIE star hubby worked in Los Angeles and Michelle filming the next series of BBC drama Our Girl in South Africa.

She added: "Everyone was like, 'Oh my god, how did you manage?' But again, because we're so used to working separately, it was fine and we've got FaceTime - you can be so close to your loved ones without even being there now."

Last year in an interview with the same publication, 32-year-old Mark, who has returned to the UK permanently after his American stint, said: "We say we're going to try [for a baby] every year but something comes up with work.

"So it'll be Michelle filming in South Africa and then I got the job in Los Angeles – so we think, right, we'll try next year.

"It'll be around December or January, we'll talk about it and we’ll go from there."
