Michelle Keegan has officially said goodbye to one of her most beloved roles, leaving fans gutted as she marks the end of her journey as Erin Croft in the hit Sky comedy Brassic. After seven years on the show, the actress took to Instagram with a heartfelt farewell that left her followers just as emotional as she was.
It had already been confirmed earlier this year that Brassic would wrap up with its seventh series, and while fans knew the end was coming, that didn’t make it any easier. Sharing a series of behind-the-scenes snaps from the set, Michelle opened up about just how much the show and her character meant to her, reported the Express.
“Goodbye Erin, so finally the Brassic journey has come to an end (feels so strange saying that) and what an unbelievable 7 years it’s been,” she wrote. “I feel so privileged to have been a small part of such a mighty show. From the moment I read the 1st script I knew this job was going to be special & it definitely was.”
The Coronation Street alum continued: “Thank you to everyone who worked on the show over the years for the laughs, friendship and, more importantly, the memories… What a magical 7 years we had.”
The reaction from fans was instant and emotional. “You’ve been incredible!! So so sad, but what amazing memories,” one wrote. Another added, “I still can’t believe this will be the last season ever. Brassic is brilliant.”
Even fan accounts joined in, with one tribute reading: “Thank you for giving us Erin Croft, she is so special and has been incredible to watch. Erin Croft forever.”
The show, led by Joseph Gilgun alongside Michelle, became an instant fan favourite when it first hit screens in 2019. Set in the fictional northern town of Hawley, it followed a gang of working-class mates hustling their way through life with a mix of chaos and comedy. It quickly became Sky’s most successful comedy ever, something the network acknowledged in their own emotional farewell.
A Sky spokesperson said: “Fans very quickly became attached to this dynamic group of friends, as they found unconventional ways to win at life in northern suburbia.”
The show’s creators also thanked everyone who helped make Brassic what it was: “We would like to thank Joe Gilgun, Danny Brocklehurst and the whole cast and crew – past and present – for bringing us all a truly iconic series.”
