Michelle Keegan announces return of hit BBC show Our Girl is less than two weeks away

Michelle Keegan has taken to Instagram to reveal when the new season of BBC's Our Girl will be returning to our screens.

Fans of the military drama will be relieved to hear that the next series will start on March 24.

"ATTENTION! Georgie Lane is back and reporting for duty on Tuesday 24th March at 9pm @bbcone #ourgirl #georgielane ," actress Michelle Keegan - who plays Georgie in the popular show - wrote on Instagram .

The stunning 32-year-old actress, who hails from Stockport, shared the exciting news alongside a still from the TV show in which her character Georgie is in full military uniform and pulls a salut.

A number of celebrity fans including Georgia Kousoulou and Jess Wright shared their excitement at the announcement, which has since received 81,600 Instagram likes.

Although Michelle is returning for season four of the drama, the actress has already announced that she will be leaving the set for good at the end of the upcoming six part series.

The actress, who found her fame through Coronation Street , revealed that she would be hanging up her army boots at the end of this year.

She will be returning to her home in Essex, which she shares with her former TOWIE husband Mark Wright - and pals reckon she's taken the plunge in order to spend more time on her marriage.

For the filming of recent seasons, the cast had jetted out to remote locations such as Nepal and South Africa for months at a time.

But the international travel was beginning to wear the actress down and she appears excited to be able to spend more time with Mark and pursue acting roles closer to home.

Although this will be her last military stint on the show, fans will have six more episodes to catch up on Georgie's final challenges.

In the teaser ahead of the show, Michelle's character dons a wedding dress as she spends a tender moment with her grandmother ahead of her big day.

It is unclear at this point whether the Our Girl show will continue without Michelle in the future.
