Michelle Keegan was left wineless on Friday night after Sainsbury’s refused to sell her booze.
The former Coronation Street star is 34 years old, but must have left her ID at home as she couldn’t prove her age to staff, who are required to ask anyone who looks under 25.
Seeing the funny side, the Our Girl actress took to her Instagram stories to tell her 5.2 million followers about her shopping fail.
In a hilarious clip, Michelle zooms in on her long lost bottle of Nine Crimes red wine as the James Blunt song ‘Goodbye My Lover’ plays in the background.
She said on the one hand she was “buzzing” at being asked for ID in her thirties, but also really wanted the vino.
Michelle, who is currently starring in comedy drama Brassic, captioned the post: “Just been refused to buy alcohol because I didn’t have any ID on me.
“Part of me is absolutely buzzing by this, but the other part of me really wants that bottle.” She ended the post with a crying emoji face.
What was even worse is it looks like Michelle was away for the weekend, possibly with husband Mark.
A photo she shared on her Instagram stories a couple of hours before the wine fail showed an idyllic looking cabin with a firepit and two cosy chairs around it with blankets.
The TV star admits she likes a drink and is often pictured at swanky restaurants and hotels with a wine or cocktail in hand.
Earlier this year she revealed she had attempted to do go sober for Dry January.
But in the end she only ended up lasting eight days before she poured herself a large glass of vino on a Friday night.
She told fans by sharing the Friends meme of character Rachel Green, played by Jennifer Aniston, pouring herself a large glass of wine.
Michelle captioned it with: 'Me... 8 days into "Dry January".'
But it’s not all bad luck for Michelle, as she is about to move into her dream home after more than a year of renovation works.
The actress demolished the Essex mansion she shares with husband and former TOWIE star Mark Wright, which they bought in October 2019 for £1.3 million.
At the start of 2020, they announced they would rebuild a brand new home from scratch on the site which has been custom designed by architects.
The lavish pad will include five bedrooms, a gym, bar and granny annexe.
The entrance will also feature a sweeping staircase with the outdoor area boasting a crystal clear swimming pool, sprawling terrace and luxury holiday-style sun-loungers and cabanas.
