Michelle Heaton says she's found hope after years of negativity, booze and drugs

Michelle Heaton has revealed she’s finally found hope after years battling booze and drugs.

The former Liberty X and Atomic Kitten singer has been plagued with problems during a turbulent career.

But in a touching Instagram post to her 231,000 followers, the ex- Celebrity Big Brother star shared a sweet snap of herself and her seven-year-old son Aaron Jay, lying on a bad and gazing lovingly into each other’s eyes.

The mum-of-two poignantly penned: “As I look at you…I can see my future for the first time in years as so bright and full of hope and sobriety.

“I’m so grateful I get this chance to be a better mum! One day at a time x.”

And many of her fans were quick to praise the 41-year-old as she hopes for a brighter future.

“You have always been an amazing mum x,” commented one fan.

And another added: “What a gorgeous picture and lovely words! Everyday is a new day.”

A third follower gushed: “Oh wow that’s so emotional Michelle xx.”

Michelle revealed she was “close to death” after a destructive three-day cocaine binge that saw her consume “a gram a night” of the Class A drug.

And after finding herself at rock bottom, it was close pal Katie Price who encouraged the reality TV star to book herself into rehab.

Michelle checked in to the famous Priory for recovering and help and, having worked hard at sorting her life out, had an emotional reunion with her family, which includes husband Hugh Hanley and nine-year-old daughter Faith Michelle.

She had not seen her kids since April before reuniting in emotional scenes on the steps of the Priory.

In a raw post to her followers, Michelle reflected: "I've been given a second chance at life and I know I'm lucky to have that.

"I'm overwhelmed with all the support and messages I've received when I was in rehab and since I've been out.

"Thank you to my family, friends, people I've met - and not met. It really does mean a lot x."

Speaking about her mental health spiral after leaving the clinic, Michelle said she'd been on a 'suicide mission'.

"I was crying out for help when I couldn't actually ask for help,” she revealed in an interview with The Sun.

“When you're an addict it feels like there's no way out.”

But the help of her celebrity pals and, with the much-needed support of her family, Michelle now hopes she’s turned a dark corner in her life.
