A Michelin-starred restaurant near Bristol has announced it is opening a second site in south Bristol.
The Pony & Trap in Chew Magna is run by coveted Bristol chef Josh Eggleton, who also operates Root and Salt & Malt at Cargo, The Kensington Arms in Redland and Yurt Lush next to Temple Meads.
With an ever-changing seasonal menu, the highly rated gastropub is known for its locally sourced menu which attracts diners from far and wide.
With Josh working alongside his sister Holly, the pair transformed the fortunes of the ancient inn after taking it on, earning it a Michelin star in 2010.
And they now have their sights set on launching a second site in Bedminster, which will have south Bristol residents licking their lips in anticipation.
The Pony & Trap announced the news on its Instagram page on Friday evening, however details about the restaurant are currently scarce.

In 2017 The Pony & Trap received a four-star review in The Telegraph, with the newspaper's critic labelling it a "scrumdiddlyumptious gastropub".

Its Chew Magna restaurant has not reopened since closing in March 2020 when the first UK-wide lockdown was announced.
The team behind it have instead focused their attention on feeding Bristol's most vulnerable people through Bristol Food Union and co-operating on pop-up tipi village Breaking Bread on The Downs.
