JFC Edinburgh: Michelin star chef opens new takeaway dishing out fried chicken

Newcomers to Leith Jimmy's Fried Chicken, or JFC for short, are bringing a seriously upmarket twist to a fast food classic with their venture in Swanfield Industrial Estate, using every bit of a chicken 'except the cluck' to create their dishes.

Instead of chucking away the majority of his chickens (after creating traditional fried chicken using the breasts/wings/legs), owner James Murray uses every single scrap of the bird for tasty sides of yakatori, a type of Japanese skewer.

JFC are opening their hatch every weekend with the main event being the bumper JFC Set - a £20 big box packed full of chicken leg, breast, nuggets, fries, pickles and dip.

They're also dishing out £1.40 skewers using every single part of the bird - yes, we're talking liver, heart, wing tips and more.

You're in safe hands when it comes to James, who had a Michelin star for his Hong Kong restaurant Nur and worked at Gordon Ramsay's restaurants in London.
