Two new Scottish restaurants have received Bib Gourmands in the Michelin Guide for Great Britain & Ireland 2022.
The influential guide, which is set to release its 2022 version next week (February 15 and 16), has named Sixteen new restaurants across the UK that have now been given Bib Gourmand status.
Named for Bibendum, the Michelin Man mascot, 122 restaurants in total across the UK have now been given the prestigious award which is given to restaurants offering "good quality, good value cooking".
The two Scottish restaurants are both in Glasgow with South East Asian cuisine specialists Ka Pao and Celentano's, which is known for its Italian inspired dishes, making the prestigious list for the first time.
Italian restaurant Celentano’s set up in the historic Cathedral House Hotel last year, while Ka Pao can be found just off Byres Road in the city's trendy west end.
Both restaurants now join the likes of Tom and Michaela Kitchin’s The Bonnie Badger in Gullane and Noto in Edinburgh in winning these top foodie awards.
Posting on their Twitter page, the team at Ka Pao wrote: We are delighted by the announcement that Ka Pao has been awarded a Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide.
"Thrilled to be recognised among the collection of new awards announced today and couldn't be in better company."
International Director of the Michelin Guides, Gwendal Poullennec, said: “We are excited to reveal these 16 new Bib Gourmand awards ahead of the full presentation of our 2022 selection. Bib Gourmands are an important part of our selection and are particularly popular with our readers and users, who are always on the lookout for wonderful food at great prices.
