Michel Vorm’s message to Tottenham fans over Paulo Gazzaniga role after Hugo Lloris injury

Former Spurs goalkeeper Michel Vorm has rejoined the club on a deal until the end of the season.

The 35-year-old originally left the club at the expiration of his contract at the end of last season, but an injury to first choice goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has led to Mauricio Pochettino turning to Vorm to provide more competition for Paulo Gazzaniga.

Lloris dislocated his elbow in the opening minutes of Spurs' 3-0 defeat against Brighton in Tottenham's last Premier League game, meaning that he faces a long spell on the sidelines.

Second choice goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga stepped into the role, and Vorm has no worries about his ability to step into Lloris' shoes.

"I've worked with him for a few years and I've seen his quality from the beginning," Vorm told Tottenham's official website.

"He's a good lad and a guy who has a strong mentality and I think he will bring a good energy with him and I' m 100% sure that he'll do a great job.
"I spoke with him yesterday and he's happy that I'm back."

Wenger: Pochettino needs to show he can give more to Tottenham

Gazzaniga has played a total of 15 games for Tottenham since joining the club from Southampton in 2017. The Argentina international has kept six clean sheets in a Spurs shirt.
