Michel Pereira vs. Sergey Khandozhko added to UFC on ESPN+ 16 in Vancouver

After a win in his UFC debut, Michel Pereira is set to return in Vancouver.

Pereira (23-9 MMA, 1-0 UFC) will take on Sergey Khandozhko (27-5-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) in a welterweight contest at UFC on ESPN+ 16, which takes place Sept. 14 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

MMA Junkie verified the matchup with two persons with knowledge of the booking following an initial report from MMA DNA. The persons requested anonymity because the UFC has yet to make an official announcement.

Pereira made headlines in his promotional debut with a first-round knockout over Danny Roberts at UFC on ESPN+ 10. He put on an entertaining and acrobatic showing and blasted Roberts with a flying knee and punch combination to deliver the knockout blow. He will look to ride his momentum when he takes on Russia’s Khandozhko.

Khandozhko also made good in his UFC debut, defeating Rostem Akman via unanimous decision at UFC on ESPN+ 11.

The latest UFC on ESPN+ 16 lineup includes:

  • Donald Cerrone vs. Justin Gaethje
  • Nikita Krylov vs. Glover Teixeira
  • David Branch vs. Andrew Sanchez
  • Todd Duffee vs. Jeff Hughes
  • Augusto Sakai vs. Marcin Tybura
  • Misha Cirkunov vs. Jim Crute
  • Antonio Carlos Junior vs. Uriah Hall
  • Cole Smith vs. Miles Johns
  • Sergey Khandozhko vs. Michel Pereira
