Michael Conlan would worry for Conor McGregor if he stepped into the boxing ring with Manny Pacquiao.
McGregor has made no secret of his desire to try his hand at professional boxing again after his 2017 loss to Floyd Mayweather.
A rematch with Mayweather has been continually mooted along with a showdown with fellow boxing legend Pacquiao.
But undefeated boxer Conlan reckons that the Filipino would present an even bigger challenge for the 31-year-old Dubliner.
Conlan told World Boxing News: “I definitely think he will but do I want to be on the undercard? No. It’s the McGregor show, you’re on the undercard, you’re going to be irrelevant. Everyone will have their eyes on him.
“He is the biggest sports star there is. Let’s be honest, not any bigger sports stars than Conor McGregor.
“I don’t care to be on the undercard but if he comes back then fair play to him. If he gets the Pacquiao fight then even better. It’s a much more dangerous fight than fighting Floyd.
“Manny Pacquiao is still as dangerous as ever. Especially for someone who is not really a boxer. If he was to fight Pacquiao I wouldn’t favor him, but I’d wish him all the best.”
McGregor told before his 40-second demolition of Donald Cerrone last month that he had been talks with Pacquiao.
He said: "With Manny Pacquiao talks have been ongoing with that.
"For me, an aspiration of mine now also is to win a boxing world title. I think that would be a phenomenal feather in the cap.
"Something I look to achieve in the future and something I will achieve."
