Michal Karbownik's agent delivers Celtic transfer blow as he makes 'big five' claim

In-demand Michal Karbownik's agent has dealt Celtic a transfer blow.

He's suggested the Polish stopper has no interest in a move to Scotland as he's targeting Europe's "big five" leagues.

The Sunday Mail exclusively revealed Neil Lennon is interested in 19-year-old Legia Warsaw left back after sending scouts to watch the talented youngster twice.

But they face major competition to land Karbownik - Real Madrid, Barcelona, Spurs, Napoli, Dynamo Moscow, Sevilla, PSV Eindhoven and Real Betis have all been credited with an interest in him.

And his agent, Mariusz Piekarski, appears to have all but dismissed the chances of the youngster moving to Scotland in the future.

He said: " Celtic? I don't really think that is an option for Michal.

"Yes, there is interest there, but he also has many, many big clubs looking at him too.

"I don't want to talk about interest from Barcelona because there is nothing concrete, but there have been from other clubs. There are some top teams who have watched him.

"We have had big clubs telling us that they would guarantee he would play around 70 per cent of games in his first season and then be first choice after that.

"Because football is frozen at the moment, so are transfers. But once we get back up playing again, his future will be sorted out and he will get a good move.

"The only certainty is that he won't go east to Russia. He will go to a big club in a big league."
