Michal Karbownik a Celtic transfer target as Neil Lennon's side face battle to land rising Legia Warsaw star

Celtic are keeping tabs on Legia Warsaw’s Michal Karbownik.

Hoops scouts have watched him twice this season in the Polish league.

But the club will have to beat Dynamo Moscow and Real Betis to land the attacking left-back.

Scotland international Greg Taylor was in possession of the jersey before the shutdown with Boli Bolingoli on the outside looking in after December's 2-1 defeat to Rangers.

Neil Lennon values the importance of full-backs with Jeremie Frimpong's emergence a key reason behind the Hoops' stellar season before lockdown.

Celtic reaped the rewards of a rampaging left-back for a number of years before Kieran Tierney's £25m exit to Arsenal in the summer of 2019.

Karbownik is a regular with Poland's U19 side and came through the ranks at Warsaw before breaking into the first team last season.

The interest in the 19-year-old comes after the Hoops paid £3.4m for Jagiellonia Białystok striker Patryk Klimala in January as they reinforced their striking options.
