Michail Antonio's miskick, Jarrod Bowen's London Stadium reception and David Moyes in a rush

Bowen meets the fans

It was a busy end to the transfer window for West Ham with the addition of Jarrod Bowen from Hull City.

It did appear at one point that the player would be heading for Crystal Palace after they agreed on a deal with the Championship side, only for the Hammers to come in and clinch the signing of the highly-rated attacker.

Bowen was unable to feature in the 3-3 draw against Brighton as he had signed too late to be registered for the weekend's game, but he was at the London Stadium to watch his new side in action.

The youngster was introduced to the fans prior to kick-off and he did get a big cheer when he made his way out of the tunnel.

Moyes rushes Fredericks

Ryan Fredericks was a surprise starter in the team on Saturday evening after recovering from his hamstring injury.

The ex-Fulham man wasn't actually expected to be back until next month but his return was welcome news for Moyes.

Winning a throw-in down the right in the first half after a sloppy touch from Leandro Trossard, the manager ran from his technical area to get the ball as he looked to get his team quickly on the attack.

He was actually hurrying Fredericks along at the same time by telling him to get a move on down the line so that they could look to punish Brighton in their half.

Antonio's moment to forget

Michail Antonio was one of West Ham's shining lights on Saturday as he impressed on his return to the team.

The winger was a hive of activity during his 75 minutes on the pitch as he looked to hurt the Seagulls with some direct running towards goal.

However, not everything went to plan for the player.

With the box loaded as they looked to find a way past Mat Ryan, Antonio went to cross the ball in from the left but he got it oh so wrong.

He completely miskicked it and the ball actually ended up going about 20 yards behind him.

Thankfully it went to Fredericks on the opposite flank and it meant that they could still push on as the right-back had space to move forward and put a cross in.

Free-kick nightmare

There was actually another moment to forget in the first half as Mark Noble and Robert Snodgrass stood over a free-kick on the right.

Assessing their options and deciding who should put the ball into the box with the likes of Issa Diop, Angelo Ogbonna and Sebastien Haller ready to attack it, the Scotsman shaped to take it but instead ran over the ball.

That threw a number of West Ham players off and three were then stood in an offside position.

Noble then swung the ball in with his right foot but, with the trio in the middle in an offside position and not able to attack it, his kick evaded everyone and went out of play.

It was a total waste of a free-kick in a good position and the Brighton fans found it rather amusing.
