Michail Antonio was named the EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month for August following a fine start to the new campaign for the Jamaican.
The Hammers striker sits top of the goalscoring charts with four in just three matches and also added three assists for West Ham teammates in that time as well.
In the process, Antonio became the Hammers all-time leading Premier League goalscorer overtaking the legendary Paolo Di Canio.
Having started out at West Ham on the wing Antonio was always confident in his goalscoring ability but even more so now he is the focal point of their attack and he was quick to pass the credit onto his manager David Moyes.
"Even when I was on the wing I got a couple of goals but now I have the opportunity where people are trying to supply me goals and I am getting more opportunities and I am taking those opportunities," Antonio told WHUTV.
"I have to put it down to the manager to be fair. There is a lot of stuff we work hard on, our work rate and our ability to counter."
With four goals under his belt already Antonio is hoping to keep up his fine form and has set himself a target for the remainder of the campaign.
"I am looking to try and get 15 goals in the Premier League this year and I haven't decided on how many assists yet," he added.
Having recently notched his 50th Premier League goal and made history with West Ham Antonio revealed he keeps a personal record of all his biggest achievements.
"Everyone wants to make history at every club they go into and I have managed to do that a few times here and I love it," Antonio said. "Every time I do it I write it down in my notebook at home."
With Di Canio's record now his own the striker is aiming to keep adding to his tally and set a tough target for any future Hammers to reach.
"I will be happy with 70 or 80 [Premier League] goals."
