West Ham ace Michail Antonio believes the true quality of the squad was shown during the vital victory over Chelsea at the London Stadium.
The Hammers came back from behind to win 3-2 against their London rivals, responding after seeing a goal cruelly ruled out by VAR and Willian's penalty for the Blues.
Tomas Soucek equalised for David Moyes' side, who then took the lead courtesy of Antonio, but a Willian free-kick ensured the score was level once again.
However, the game was decided when West Ham capitalised on some poor Chelsea defending to hit the visitors on the counter-attack, resulting in Andriy Yarmolenko cutting inside onto his left foot and drilling an effort past Kepa Arrizabalaga.
That result sees West Ham pick up their first points since the Premier League's restart and became the first side in the bottom five to pick up a win following the three-month hiatus.
Antonio believes that the performance shows the true quality of the squad and states that if they can do it against Chelsea, they can do it against anybody.
" There’s been so many games where we’ve been so close. Today, we managed to get a goal, go underneath, get the lead taken away from us, go 1-0 down, managed to bring it back, goes 2-2, and get the winner in the end," he told Sky Sports.
"It shows the grit we’ve got and we’re not gonna give up, we’re gonna fight until the end. I really dislike VAR. I really dislike it. This season, so many things haven’t gone our way. It’s gone against us so many times. Today, it didn’t stop us, we kept going.
“It was hard. They keep the ball so well. They play unbelievable football. They pin us in when they lose it, they press us straight away, so I’ve got to get on loose balls and try to keep it for the team.
"It was very hard, but we showed the grit we’ve got, the fight we’ve got and the determination we’ve got. We’re gonna keep going until the end and make sure we’re safe.
"It shows the squad that we have and shows we shouldn’t be in the situation we are in, but we are, and we need to get ourselves out of it.
“It gives us the confidence, and the belief, not the fact we won the game, the fact we went down. We had a goal taken away from us. We managed to get back in. Chelsea’s a quality team, they’re fighting for the Champions League.
"If we can do it against them, we can do it against anybody."
