Michaella McCollum's memoir re-enters Amazon's Top 10 following release of Peru Two docu-series

Michaella McCollum has landed in a number of Amazon’s bestseller lists after the release of her two-part documentary series High: The Confessions of an Ibiza Drug Mule.

The first episode in the series was released on BBC on Tuesday night and has since gathered new interest in the 28-year-old’s story.

She served over two years in prison after she was busted with €1.6million worth of cocaine in 2013 with her Scottish accomplice, Melissa Reid.

Alongside the series release, she brought out a new edition of her memoirs, after renaming the book High.

Since its update, the book has landed at #2 in Organised Crime on Amazon’s audiobook list, as well as #11 on their biographies chart, while the paperback version now sits at #5 on the Organised Crime Biographies.

The book has been rapidly climbing the charts since the TV adaptation was released and just yesterday it sat at #8 on the same audiobooks list.

McCollum took to Instagram last night to celebrate High making it into the Top 10 and reposted a number of kind reviews on her page.

The reaction to the documentary across Ireland seems to have changed the opinions of some who would have followed the story in the headlines over the years.

One person wrote; “Never thought I would change my opinion of Michaela McCollum but #High has done just that! I actually admire her strength. Good luck lady.”

Another said; “Gotta say, no matter what she did, totally loved Michaella McCollum’s spirit. I love a person with guts.”

A third wrote; “Hearing this from Michaela McCollum herself is an entirely different story to the one we’ve heard for years. This could happen to any girl, alone, abroad and very vulnerable.”
