Michael Strahan appeared to fix the gap in his teeth precariously close to April Fools’ Day

Pro Football Hall of Famer and current TV personality Michael Strahan has navigated his entire football and media career with the same look:

A pronounced gap in his teeth.

And it was something he owned, a look he embraced. But now, that appears to have changed.

Strahan took to Twitter on Tuesday and shared a video of him undergoing a dental procedure to fix his teeth, replacing that gap with a perfect smile.

Now, it should be pointed out that Strahan chose to post this video two days before the worst day on the internet, April Fools’ Day, so everything in that window should be approached with skepticism.

Back in 2012, Strahan said in an interview with Elle that he considered fixing his teeth but ultimately decided against it:

I was in my twenties. I was playing with the Giants. There’s so much pressure to be perfect. You can fix everything now. For me, I made the conscious effort to say “This is who I am.” I’m not perfect. I don’t want to try to be perfect. At this point, I don’t think my kids would recognize me without it. They’d be like, “Who is this stranger in the house? Call 911!”

But the video did promote a real cosmetic dentistry office in New York, and that would seem like a lot of work for an April Fools’ Day stunt during a pandemic.

Is it real? We’ll know for sure soon enough.
